Berkeley Supports Woodberry Down Community Arts Programme

Berkeley Supports Community Outreach Programme

2015 has got off to a great start at Woodberry Down with Berkeley Homes’ recent financial contribution to support the on-going work of the Manor House Development Trust (MHDT), which champions the community and economic development of the area, through engagement and community activities. The Trust has been working alongside Berkeley Homes and other delivery partners since the regeneration of Woodberry Down began, over five years ago. However this funding, which will support MHDT’s public arts strategy, marks the first formal agreement between the trust and the developer.

Simon Donovan, CEO of the Manor House Development Trust, said “MHDT is thrilled to further strengthen our partnership with Berkeley Homes. Their significant investment in the MHDT public arts strategy demonstrates BH’s commitment to improving the quality of life for all residents on Woodberry Down. We look forward to seeing some fantastic and innovative art.”

Piers Clanford, Managing Director at Berkeley Homes (North East London) said: ‘’Berkeley Homes is delighted to be able to offer financial support to the Manor House Development Trust which does such a fantastic job within the Woodberry Down community, working with and empowering local residents.   Investment in public arts is a vital part of the on-going strategy to bring together the community and support residents’ enjoyment of the area they live in. The regeneration programme is not just about bricks and mortar, and the public arts strategy is one of the many initiatives to retain and enhance the community spirit which embodies Woodberry Down”
