Our annual International Women’s Day celebration took place on the 9th March at the Redmond Community Centre, celebrating women from our community and all around the world!

This year there were inspirational talks celebrating the achievements of our community members including a presentation from Ketra Kyosiimire telling her story about how Fairtrade coffee in Uganda has enabled farmers (including many women farmers) to earn a fair living.

We also had workshops ranging from advice for mothers in the work place, to aromatherapy and yoga. Not forgetting the kids, there were interactive story telling, arts and crafts, face painting and more!

Live musical acts rounded off the event, including the newly named Woodberry Warblers Choir and the talented local singer, Hortence . We also had delicious vegan feast prepared and served by Redmoon Roots!

It was our biggest to date, with over 200 people attending the event.
