A locally-run business

IMG_0604The Luncheon Club has been funded by Manor House Development Trust and Genesis since 2009. The ladies who run the Luncheon Club do this on a voluntary basis, and have been doing this for over 5 years. Find out more about the ladies by clicking here. The Club started off as a community group, which we supported by training the volunteers in Food Hygeine, through the 1st phase of the Well London programme. Now, the Club is an incorporated business with contracts and funding from grants. They are Manor House Development Trust’s main caterer, offering meals, buffets and refreshments to those who hire the Redmond Community Centre.

Elaine: “We’re even doing the catering for people hiring rooms in the RCC. We have been doing that for even up to 300 people.”

Now, they are looking for a new challenge. The Luncheon Club has recently won funding through our Well London programme to deliver affordbale meals to immobile residents on the estate, by using cargo bikes to transport meals to people’s homes. Watch this space!
