The local community come together to try out different African/Caribbean dishes, take part in activities, listen to the history of Africans and Caribbeans and learn about African culture.


It was an evening of fun, food and culture at the Redmond Community centre on Wednesday 28 October when the Black History Month event was hosted by Oladapo Awosokanre, a local resident. The kids made flags of different African and Caribbean countries which was displayed at the library. With over 40 local people in attendance, they enjoyed African songs, food, colourful attires, presentations and demonstrations of African clothes, musical instruments and games.
