Well London and Manor House Development Trust have teamed up with food innovator, Justas Mazeika, to create and serve delicious, healthy food and drinks in the Redmond Community Centre every Wednesday. This runs at the same time as the Baby Stay and Play service, so mothers can sample healthy treats while their children play.
Come along and volunteer every Wednesday from 10am-1pm and share a tasty nutritious meal at 13:20 – ‘pay what you feel’, donation basis to cover ingredients!
Most of the food the Well London Cafe uses is donated from a local fruit and veg wholesalers as food surplus. This is really exciting for the team to work with food in this sustainable way, helping to reduce food waste, sharing skills and creatively turning food into a feast for us all to share.
First off, the team focuses on energising and cleansing smoothies and juices to help the body run at its optimum. Drinks are available for free to participants of the Baby Stay & Play group (running from 9:30-12:30). All other food and goodies are offered at 13:20 at what ever value you give it! Bargain price to pay for ingredients.
Would you like to prepare food in our centre?
If you have a traditional recipe you’d like to share and make healthier, we’d love to make a twist to the ingredients and see what we can collectively create!
Perhaps you have diabetes and want an alternative sweetness to sugar, maybe dairy bothers you or you are gluten and wheat intolerant – we can help create and discuss new food to create. Take a look at the workshops below and join the crew in the kitchen. For those that have taken courses with us, like Food Hygiene for example, get in touch with how you can help and potentially learn skills and run a class of your own….
