Is your home cold and expensive to heat? You until the 31st March to apply for
Did you know that grants of up to 75% of the cost to insulate your home is available (up to a maximum of £6,000) for energy saving measures, including double glazing. This grant is being offered through the Smart Homes scheme available until 31st March 2015. The grants are provided by government, are not means tested and are offered to home owners living in 6 north London boroughs.
Manor House Development Trust have have teamed up with Retrofit London and the North London Chamber of Commerce to arrange a drop-in advice session to allow interested residents to meet with an approved local supplier of works under the scheme to get detailed advice on works you might consider including potential costs and feasibility of works.

To access the grant you will need to:
- Live in one of the boroughs of Hackney, Haringey, Islington, Camden, Enfield or Waltham Forest.
- Own a solid walled property or hard-to-treat cavity (the Advice Line can help residents identify this);
- pay for a Green Deal assessment, which you can receive subsidised through Smart Homes at only £50 (the normal cost is between £100-£150);
- to pay a minimum contribution of 25% towards the cost of works.
Smart Homes grants are available until 31st of March 2015 on a first-come first-served basis so it is best to apply now so you don’t miss out.
