Description: PACT is a project focused on shaping a sustainable future for people living within Hackney and Haringey. PACT meals is an open community project where volunteers and participants can help prepare and enjoy a meal using surplus food from local shops that would normally go to landfill, where it produces methane emissions and contribute to climate change!

Volunteers will help with the following tasks: 

  • Help preparing and serving meals;
  • Collecting herbs and salads from garden;
  • Collecting food from local shops (bikes available).

What you can get:

Cooking with others is great fun and volunteers are encouraged to bring plastic containers in case there is any food left over from the meal. You will have the chance to develop new skills, increase employability and learn about the effects of climate change.

You will also get one-to-one support from the Volunteer Coordinator and access training options that will enhance your skills.
