The annual “Woodberry Down Community Garden Clear Up Day” took place this year on the 14th April. Volunteers and members of the community came to the community garden to de-weed, re-mulch the pathways and to give the garden a general spruce up, ready for the spring and summer months!
The Community Garden was founded as part of the Well London project, with the aim of enabling local people to grow food on their doorstep, with the added positive impact on their mental well-being. It provides a quiet oasis for local residents along with a growing sense of community.
Unlike previous years, planters were built this year by cooperate volunteers over a three day period to give to the community gardeners on the annual clear up day.
MHDT wants to thank Timebank, Rocksteady, Who’s In and MatchFashion for sending such hard working and enthusiastic volunteers to help build these planters and helped clear the community garden.
As you can see from the photos, it’s been quite the transformation.
