Manor House PACT worked with London Wildlife Trust to create a new wildlife and nature park on a forgotten corner of the Woodberry Down Estate. Local PACT volunteers helped build the garden and raise the profile of Woodberry Down estate as a family friendly, environmentally friendly place to live and work.

The new ‘pocket park’, opened in July 2014 with a party sponsored by Manor House PACT and includes an orchard with apple and plum trees, native hedge plants such as hawthorn, field maple, hazel and blackthorn, and a herb garden including thyme, rosemary, borage and lavender.

The site backs onto the Woodberry Down Primary School and London Wildlife Trust hoped to share the garden as a safe space for outdoor learning activities – where children can discover the natural world and the wildlife that lives around us.
